The German premiere of the Absolute 50 Fly took place on Saturday, 29th October, during the 57th Hamburg International Boat Show, thanks to our Dealer “Levien Sails & Drive”. Cesare Mastroianni, Absolute’s Vice President Sales and Chief Commercial Officer, has proudly introduced this novelty.
All eyes are on us: Absolute has just launched a brand new and ambitious communication campaign, signed by Meloria.
The aims were to strengthen the brand identity and to build a strategy that comes directly from observing the company’s values and attitude.
“Reaching for the Absolute” represents the ultimate spirit of the philosophy and the work method of the brand, which is why it was chosen as the payoff that goes along with the actual logo. Its DNA has been written in the name since its establishment.

Most people are led to think that everything is relative in life, Absolute believes that anything can aim for the absolute form. From this concept, the brand new leitmotiv was born: “WE MAKE IT ABSOLUTE”
The communication campaign is based exactly on such concepts, in a light but convincing way. We introduce Absolute boats thoroughly by means of an impressive visual and a recognizable format.
In order to efficiently deliver the message, such philosophy has been applied in an “absolute” way to any media, by the press, up to the new communication that has been studied ad-hoc for the web. The latter provides for a new editorial plan for social networks and a restyling of the website, which features a new sleek and user-friendly design: the keywords are “navigability” and “quick access” to information.
The successful season was already inaugurated on the occasion of one of the most important events of the nautical industry: the Cannes International Yachting Festival, where the prestigious fleet has literally seduced the visitors, collecting the unanimous consent from all over the world.

This event had the purpose of showing its dealers from all the planet’s corners, the news of the season, to discuss new objectives, new perspectives and visions for the future.

Absolute’s ambitious journey has started from its very establishment. From that start, we have always pushed ourselves further, without stopping. Today, in 2016, an enlargement operation of the facilities and the floor area of the current headquarters has begun, and within 2016, it will increase by 7.200 m2, from the current 17.000 m2 to 24.200 m2.
The Italian spirit that distinguishes the artist from the artisan is “knowing how to create”, rather than “knowing how to do”. In the past, a laboratory was the artisanal creativity theatre, the birthplace of a work. The research of a peaceful entertainment in the sea passes through an adequate preparation on land.
All of us, who navigate for passion, and who steer a pleasure boat, we have the responsibility for safely hosting our loved ones and our friends. Absolute has always been paying attention to these topics in two different ways: on the one hand, the design and the construction of the boats follow precautions and criteria even highly superior if compared to the basic CE Marking rules; on the other hand, we determine with the same caution also the technical choices that aren’t included in the conventional security criteria.
This is not an “easy marketing” matter, and probably many ship owners take for granted that all the shipyards operate inspired by the same premises, but it is not like that.
That is why all Absolute’s models are voluntarily submitted to a close examination by Volvo Penta, in order to certify – formally and substantially – the perfect IPS Systems’ installation, with all the related implications and consequences.
This examination is strict, accurate and all-embracing: the test concerns a huge quantity of indications established by the Swedish Company in order that IPS Systems express the best of their possibilities, both concerning performances and energy efficiency (therefore, an optimal fuel saving); then, concerning reliability and security (therefore, highest level of pleasure and relax during the free time spent in the sea); and, finally, concerning maintenance’s practicality and simplicity (and so, non-invasive interventions for prevention and conservation).
All this is reflected in an exam of the projects on paper and, above all, in the execution of inspections during the construction and the testing on the final products.
Obtaining these certificates from Volvo Penta is not easy at all, and this fact is evident if we consider that the Swedish Company has hundreds of customer shipyards all around the world, but only 16 have obtained this result, and Absolute is one of the few ones that boast the complete range of top marked products by Volvo!
So, next time we will board a boat, we will remember that the charm of navigation and the elegance of the furniture must literally be leaned on a “state-of-the-art” built engine room and, in this field, Absolute is exemplar and it doesn’t fear the comparison with other companies.

First, I wish to thank you for the opportunity of recalling these 10 years of evolution together. Volvo Penta stands out for the innovative character of its product and this is an important part of the company’s DNA, the same thing that I can say for Absolute.
Absolute has immediately take up the new IPS proposal while installing the IPS1-600 generation on 45STC in 2005. Later, innovative solutions stand out, such as the first three-engine equipment tested in 2006 on the 56, the four-engine in 2008 on board the 70 STY and then the 64 STY, the first IPS 1200 equipment in the world… A path that is continuing, together, always in the forefront. |

Volvo Penta follows and supports the world of manufacturers giving a precise technical service, such as, for example, the “certification of IPS installations”. In concrete terms, what does it mean for you to certify an IPS engine room, which requirements do you analyze and by what “strictness”? |

The joined path of planning the installation of engines and transmissions passes through a series of inspections and tests, aimed at ensuring the best environmental conditions for the functioning of the propulsions. |

Among the IPS OEM shipyards, Absolute stands out for consistency and specialization and, apparently in the nautical panorama, Absolute is precisely characterized by the completeness of a range between 40’ and 72’ IPS completely certified from Volvo Penta. What benefits does this entail for the ship owners in the life on board day by day? |

As I mentioned, the fact that a Volvo Penta installation is certified means that the integration work between the boat and the engines has been very seriously handled, in all its aspects. Maybe, the owner cannot immediately notice this result, or he could take it for granted, but I can assure you that this is not the case on all the boats! I would summarize the general idea into maintenance and user-friendliness as well as risk and impact of possible failures reduction. Furthermore, the figures confirm this: for the hundreds of Absolute yachts IPS certified, the statistics has a positive record, of overriding reliability. |

Few people know that the cooperation between Absolute and Volvo is not limited to the sole supply of the engines, but it also involves other prototype activities connected. Could you reveal us what has been doing over the years in Krossholmen? |

Our testing facility is a real laboratory with structures that are very similar to the one of a shipyard, in addition to the possibility of hosting customers and journalists for sea trials. Right after the meetings with Absolute technical staff, some of the applications that will make history both for Absolute and Absolute 70STY have born: I am talking again about the 56 with three IPS 600, a boat that has been very important for me both personally and professionally. In Krossholmen we have on average 40 boats which are available for testing the products in their specific context, the boat. For example, in the past years, we used an Absolute 70STY as a platform for the introduction of the IPS 1200. |

… and what is happening during these weeks? Rumors talk about the forthcoming launch of an Absolute boat equipped by you with new generation IPS…? |

During the last weeks, we have been reaching the point of a joined path that has been lasting more than a year: the installation and tests of the IPS range newborn on an Absolute! And it is no coincidence. Unfortunately, it is a real prototype and I cannot share any details about, other than the tests in Mediterranean have fully fulfilled the expectations. Now the yacht is in Krossholmen because the optimization has not been completed yet. |

In fact, Absolute’s public got used to the introduction of relevant novelties at every new nautical season. In the same way, Volvo introduces every year accessories, software, and implementations in the world of IPS. What other 2016-2017 previews could you disclose today? |

Volvo Penta is, and wishes to remain, at the forefront of the nautical world: for this reason, the research and investments in new products are a corporate priority. We have many incoming novelties but, it is a bit early to go into the details; for sure, in Cannes, we will already see a great leap forward for the ergonomic and integration of the driving seats, a topic on which Absolute has originated a new approach. Our Glass Cockpit platform, which was only an option up to now, will become a standard for the IPS installations in the new 16:9 screens from 7 to 24 inches! |

It’s not easy to find a clear and univocal definition to explain the concept that stands behind the word “Merchandising”: for Absolute, since many years, it means to provide its customers with a huge selection of products and accessories (concretely useful, not only on board) that offer to the customer the possibility to identify himself as a “member of the team”.

The new GPSMAP 8400 series is made of maxi high definition chart-plotters with a multi-touch full HD wide screen that can go from 17’’, to 22”, to 24”. These tools are equipped with a new and powerful processor that allows incredible performance as far as yachting devices are concerned. They can be recessed or flush mounted, so that the dashboard becomes an elegant crystal panel fully integrated. By means of the large ultra HD screen, that can be divided up to 6 windows in split screen mode, it is easier to keep track of every important detail simultaneously: cartography, radar, cameras, depth finder, engine data, home automation on board. Possibilities are endless! GPSMAP 8400 series’ models are compatible with optional cartography BlueChart® g2 HD and BlueChart g2 Vision HD. News from the world: the experience of a boating dean, Gary Erceg, at first glance with the Navetta 58 in New Zealand.
Winner of the ‘Best Boat Design’ award at the London Boat Show in 2015, the Absolute Navetta 58 has been building a solid reputation for itself since its World Premiere in Varazze in August 2014. So – not surprising that her arrival here in New Zealand midst much fanfare created such an impact.
Her new owner first viewed the model at the Cannes Boat Show in 2014. Having firstly considered a competitor’s product he later realised his dream boat when stepping aboard the Absolute Navetta 58. It was ‘love at first sight’ and no other boat could compete. ‘Quality, unbelievable volume, décor, layout and the spaciousness – all bottled with performance and economy sealed the deal us,’ he stated.
Upon arrival in New Zealand the boat was commissioned within days and the owner and his family left immediately for the far north to Whangaroa Harbour and on to the nearby Bay of Islands. Lying in the far north of the North Island this cruising area, which encompasses 144 islands is one of the many cruising meccas of New Zealand.
Not only are these areas renowned for their unspoiled cruising grounds, their reputation for exceptional deep sea fishing and diving is legendary. So what better place for this very busy owner to take time out to relax with family and friends and ‘re-charge the batteries’?
The owner chose to cruise the boat most of the time at a comfortable 25 knots. ‘Belvedere’ was easy to handle in any sea whether close to the coast or in a harbor or bay, and with the IPS drives the boat was easy to manoeuvre. No teething problems were experienced; no warranty claims were required; no headaches to contend with. Never before had we experienced this with a new boat delivery. ‘The quality control and design on this boat is exceptional’, stated the commissioning technician, ‘for a boat like this to have no problems is quite unique’.
In short, the Navetta is an Italian interpretation of a North American trawler and has been translated into a uniquely special vessel. Absolute’s goal was to avoid developing a fast trawler from an existing sport boat design and to steer clear of mimicking the style of traditional displacement trawlers. And they’ve achieved this perfectly.
The Navetta 58’s styling sets her apart from traditional fast trawlers, and gives her a very strong character. Her plumb stem is shippy-looking and has the practical benefit of extending the usable space in the lower deck. The same concept applies to her vertical topsides. Character lines, portholes, and large windows break up the mass there. That high chine in the forward sections suppresses spray when the bow punches through big seas. It looks cool, too.
Volvo Penta’s IPS drives IPS800 (with the option D6-IPS 600, D8-IPS 700, D8-IPS 800) provide seamless manoeuvring and whip-smart fuel consumption which gave the designers an uncommon amount of space below decks. The engine room is huge and the master suite amidships over the longitudinal centre of buoyancy, spans the yacht’s entire beam. Its king-size berth is on the centreline, while a settee to starboard and stowage cabinets along the portside.
Spending time onboard has never been so pleasant!
Space onboard is excellent, be that in the saloon or the three spacious cabins and ensuites, plus a crew cabin – a great alternative to the Kiwi bach but one with distinctive Italian flair – from Italy with love!

The Yacht Miami Beach Show has just concluded, and the Absolute team returned to Italy, carrying excellent result and a certain kind of enthusiasm to take on the forthcoming events planned all over the world.
Since their entry into the market, some Absolute range’s models have been appreciated in such a way as to being present in several markets. Encouraged by the positive feedbacks expressed by the Dealers and reaffirmed by the international ship-owners, the shipyard has decided to bet on these “spearheads”, really appreciated also by the public, who is increasingly present during the Boat Shows.
An example? The “best-seller” Absolute 52FLY, in the coming months, will be displayed in three Continents: the Taiwan Boat Show (which will take place from 10 to 13 March at Kaohsiung Exhibition Center) will chronologically be the first event, as well as the first occasion when an Absolute yacht will be presented on the Asian Island, together with the Navetta 52.
Later, the 52FLY will be displayed overseas, after the success of Miami, during the 31st edition of Palm Beach Boat Show, from 17 to 20 March, together with the Absolute 40STL, 45STY and Navetta 52.
Then, it will be the protagonist of Absolute’s booth during the Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show, from 29 April to 2 May (Gold Coast Yacht and Country Club), together with the Absolute 45FLY and the two “Navettas”, Navetta 52 and Navetta 58, and during the Portorož Boat Show (which will take place in the Slovenian Marina, from 4 to 8 May): here, it will be displayed together with the two “Navettas” and the Absolute 64FLY.

Nowadays, we note in the market the proliferation of boats that are certified in the highest design category “A” for the “CE mark”, i.e. watercrafts lower than 24 meters (even much lower than this size) for which there is the ability to sail without any wave height limitation or wind strength limitation. In front of such endless certainty, Absolute emphasizes its preference for the safer and more reliable road.
Although the implemented projects and the engineering criteria comply with such “A category”, Absolute prefers to sell all its boats latest by “B category”, drawing all users’ attention to the very adverse weather conditions that this category calls for, i.e. 4 meters high waves and force 8 wind on the Beaufort scale (wind blowing at more than 35 knots).
The passion for the endless horizon should never overstep captain’s responsibility: this awareness should condition every ship owner’s choices, as well as it inspires Absolute to voluntarily limit the sale of its boats to “B category”, despite the building in “A category”: have a safe sailing!!!
The 2016 will open for Absolute with the participation at a new important and unmissable meeting: the Boot in Düsseldorf. The big player of this year will be the Navetta 52, not only together with its “older sister” Navetta 58, but also with Absolute 45STY and Absolute 52FLY, as examples of the various Absolute ranges.
The Absolute Generation 2016 will then land again overseas, after the success of Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show 2015, during the Yacht Miami Beach Show, from 11th to 15th February. Absolute 72FLY, Absolute 64FLY, Absolute 60FLY, Absolute 52FLY, Absolute 45STY and Absolute Navetta 52 will be the models moored at the renowned Collins Avenue, which, for the occasion, will turn into a runway ready to host the most exclusive luxury yachts , designed and realized by the world’s foremost boat builders.
The Absolute team never stops, and at the same time, some models of the range will be displayed at Eurasia Boat Show, which will take place at Istanbul from 13th to 21st February 2016: here, you will have the opportunity to admire Absolute Navetta 52, Absolute Navetta 58 and Absolute 60FLY. Following, the Absolute 52FLY and the Navetta 52 will be displayed from 10th to 13th March at the prestigious Taiwan International Boat Show, at its third edition.

The collaboration between Absolute and the Turkish dealer Deniz Yatcilik arises several years ago, in view of a constant development of the sales network, towards the emerging market economies: in fact, Turkey can be considered a real heaven for boaters, thanks to its 8.272 kilometer shore sides, and it is in this context that, in 1998, the company Deniz Yatcilik was founded in the most famous district of Istanbul, Etiler.
Over the years, the collaboration has been consolidating and in fact, in September, Absolute decided to reward Deniz Yatcilik between the “Top Dealer” of this past season, for the third year running: in particular, the dealer has been awarded as Best Brand Ambassador 2015, “For the high added–value achieved to the Absolute Brand, by effectively gaining a prominent position in a demanding and mature marketplace”.
Particularly important is the event organized in the month of August at Grand Yazici Club Marmaris Palace, the traditional “Denizle Randevu”, which has now reached its fourth edition, with more than 50 prestigious boats as protagonist. Internationally renowned chef and dj have welcomed the 250 exclusive guests, who have been partying until sunrise, being enchanted by the amazing parade of the following Absolute’s range models, amongst other: 72 Fly, 70 Sty, 60 Fly, 56 Fly, 52 Fly, 55 Sty, 53 Fly, 43 Fly, 43 Sty, 40 Stl.

Among the recent novelties conceived and implemented by Absolute shipyard on its boats’ range, we can underline the hardtop, which has been built on the models “Absolute 60 Fly”, “Absolute 64 Fly” and “Absolute 72 Fly”: it is impossible not to underline its wide size, which cannot be find on other yachts the same length.
This fiberglass rigid cover is certainly appreciated by the boating users who, especially in the last few years take advantage of their boats also for long periods. Together with the wide covering sheet, this option turns the space of the Fly into a real additional deck, a sort of further hall, but with an aboveground view.
In fact, by imagining oneself on board, during a hot and sunny summer’s day, it is impossible not to appreciate the shaded area created by the hardtop, which allows the guests to take full advantage of the Fly’s space, while enjoying the privacy offered by this “veranda” on the sea.
After the great success achieved at the Yachting Festival Cannes, during which it has been previewed to the yachtsmen all over the globe, the “Navetta 52” has recently landed in the USA.
The novelty of the Shipyard near Piacenza has been exhibited during the 56th edition of the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show, Florida, from 5th to 9th November 2015, together with other models of Absolute’s range, namely “Absolute 40 Stl“, “Absolute 60 Fly” and “Absolute 64 Fly“.
This is also the debut of this new range in the USA, to which both “Navetta 52” and “Navetta 58” belong: this last one was presented during the Yachting Festival Cannes, in September 2014. A growing range, meant for users who dedicate themselves to the yachting, no longer interested only into the luxury but rather into the combination between optimal performances and “household” spaces, enhanced by the stylistic originality and the impressive simplicity.
Chronologically, the USA are just the latest destination of “Navetta” range, after its landing in the marinas of North Europe, Adriatic Sea, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Turkey.

The new “Absolute Generation 2016” debuted in the fascinating setting of the Port Vieux in Cannes in the context of “Yachting Festival 2015”, while displaying 9 boats of its range, including the novelty of the season, the “Navetta 52”, the real protagonist of Absolute booth.
SportLine, Flybridge and Navetta, there are the ranges displayed at Yachting Festival: each of them, with its specific features, gives to the visitor the opportunity to breathe the elegance and quality that mark these “sea jewels”, elegantly designed and produced by the ambitious team of the shipyard near Piacenza.

Absolute shipyard has opened its doors to the TV programme “The Boat Show“, that has achieved a report about the history, the products and the plans of the company. The interviews to some of the figures who have been creating Absolute’s success make it possible to fully understand the project behind the establishment of Absolute: a continuous innovation based upon a full knowledge of the boating world’s tradition.
The trip runs through the different departments of the shipyard, from the Technical Office, where the boat’s projects arise, to the productions department, where the viewer has the possibility to take a close look to the multiple steps that lead to the final product and appreciate the details that identify the quality of Absolute’s product.
Finally, the focus moves on to Absolute’s future, analyzing the projects in terms of internal growth and sales network’s development towards new markets.
At the beginning of each year, the prestigious Düsseldorf boat show is not only a prominent showcase and the perfect stage to host the premiere for novelties, but also a crowded crossroads for the cooperation of professionals.
The commercial network of Absolute is well known for its dynamic and solid attitude: from now on, the strong professional connections among its members are enriched by a cooperation program for the development in Croatia. The promoters and protagonists of this action are “Adriatic Wave” established in Italy and Croatia, and “Yacht Professional” who operates in Czech Republic and in Slovakia.
The management of these companies has noted the opportunity of an appropriate synergy of all the dealers involved in this area, because of the strategic value expressed by the entire East shore of the Adriatic Sea. It cannot be said that Absolute isn’t constantly moving!
Surely, the idea of the Italian peninsula doesn’t immediately match with that of the immense Russian land, cleaved by some of the longest European rivers; but you couldn’t be more wrong, since this is the new wedding in the Absolute family, which extends its own presence on the Russian area, giving a warm welcome to Admiral Group.
The relationship was made official at the Moscow Boat Show in March 2013, in front of a huge and excited crowd, who greeted with extreme pleasure this newborn union.
After all, Russia is one of the best navigable countries, both in fresh and seawater: its coasts are soaked in the Black Sea, which can lead into the Volga river. This, thanks to an efficient system of locks and canals, allows vast voyages even to boats of big sizes.
What to know about this new partner?

Absolute’s success and quality were once more awarded in Cannes during the new edition of the Festival de la Plaisance 2011.
Already prize-winner in 2009 for the flagship of its fleet, the 70 STY, the shipyard got rewarded for its efforts. A group of foreign
journalists awarded to the brand new Absolute 53 Fly and STY, the prize World Yachts Trophy of The Most Innovative Yacht under 24 meters.
During the award ceremony, Mrs Patrizia Gobbi, General Manager, greeted the news with pride and emotion. “I would like to thank the whole Absolute team that has committed to work with enthusiasm to achieve this Success…” .
The Absolute 53 Flybridge and Sport Yacht deserves this nomination. It is a refined, elegant, sporty but also very adaptable boat. Thanks to its sliding glass doors and the presence of an important Hard Top or flybridge, the yacht can be fully opened or closed making it enjoyable during summer and winter. At last a spacious boat that can be used all year long!
The most innovative feature of all is the cockpit convertible seats. It includes a large reclining sofa that can be adapted into a sunbath cushion. With this novelty, the Italian shipyard once again point on comfort and originality, fulfilling the desires of all sunbathing lovers.
After months of hard work, the Absolute team couldn’t hide its joy. Efforts and commitment have been rewarded has it should be. It is with pride that the prize was raised by the creators of this true gem of the seas. “We’re a strong and united team and we never doubted our Success. We’re very proud that our hard work is paying off and we are very optimistic for the future” they added.
On the Croisette, by the beach of the prestigious Carlton Hotel, the World Yachts Trophy ceremony ended with a flourish. The public had the opportunity to enjoy the magnificent fireworks display illuminating the parade at sea of the awarded boats. A colorful show, worthy ofthe finest paintings.
